UAF’s 90th graduation ceremony will be held at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 13. The ceremony will be viewable via webcast during the ceremony. I am extremely pleased to report that UAF received notification of reaffirmation from the commissioners of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities on the basis of the Fall 2011 Comprehensive Evaluation. Chancellor Rogers addressed a meeting sponsored by the Associated Students of Business in Schaible Auditorium on the topic of entrepreneurship. Rogers spoke of his experience selling lemonade out of a Volkswagon van on the UAF campus back in the 1970s. ASB is a student organization encompassing all majors in the School of Management. The chancellor‘s Dancing with the Cars gala fundraiser took place Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum. Those in attendance enjoyed music, dancing and antique autos. The event helped raise money for the UAF Center for Alaska Native Health Research student scholarships and Fairbanks Memorial Hospital’s J. Michael Carroll Cancer Center.
