Regents approve electrical upgrades and more

Two top-level appointments announced at Statewide
The University of Alaska System has promoted two longtime UA employees. Erika Van Flein, formerly benefits administrator for UA Human Resources, has been named director of benefits. She replaces Mike Humphrey, who recently left the System Office to serve as executive officer for UAA Chancellor Tom Case. BOR meeting agendas are now online
In an effort to conserve paper and save money the Board of Regents’ meeting agendas will no longer be printed and distributed. Instead, all agenda material is now available online. The next Board of Regents’ meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 2, in Fairbanks.

The June issue of the Regents’ Recap is now available online with information from the June 2 – 3 UA Board of Regents’ meeting. Highlights include approval of a series of construction and maintenance projects, faculty union contracts and an update on a major gift of connectivity from ACS.
UA Academic Master Plan
The Academic Master Plan for the University of Alaska is now complete. Many key players came together to create this plan for the UA System. Printed copies of the plan will be distributed to deans, directors, regents, chancellors and other leaders systemwide. The plan is also available online (PDF).
