University secures match for teacher mentoring grant

Feb. 10: Global Change Student Research Grant Competition
Guidelines for the 2012 Global Change Student Research Grant competition are now available online. Ray Barnhardt receives award
Ray Barnhardt, professor of Cross-Cultural Studies, was recognized with the Emma Walton Distinguished Service Award, presented every other year by the Alaska Science Teachers Association. This years’ biennial ASTA conference was held in Fairbanks Sept. 24-26.
Six sustainability student projects approved
Six student-led sustainability projects, totaling $117,286, were approved for funding this summer. SMART students reach for new heights
Counselors keep a keen eye on the safety lines while students enrolled in UAF’s SMART Academy take turns on the climbing wall in the Student Recreation Center. The Climate Literacy and Energy Network, known as CLEAN, selected two digital learning tools from the Arctic Climate Modeling Program to be included in a peer-reviewed, annotated digital library collection.
