University secures match for teacher mentoring grant

The University of Alaska has successfully secured $1.5 million in private matching money required to receive a $15 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to expand early career teacher mentoring. UA in line for $15 million to assist teachers

Feb. 10: Global Change Student Research Grant Competition

Ray Barnhardt receives award

Ray Barnhardt, professor of Cross-Cultural Studies, was 
recognized with the Emma Walton Distinguished Service Award, presented 
every other year by the Alaska Science Teachers Association. This
 years’ biennial ASTA conference was held in Fairbanks Sept. 24-26.

Six sustainability student projects approved

SMART students reach for new heights

Geophysical Institute Outreach Office curriculum receives recognition

Geophysical Institute student accepted to three separate internships

GI librarian appointed to statewide council
